Position Overview

A respected health organization in Johnstown is seeking an experienced Locum Tenens Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care. This assignment offers competitive compensation, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to support a busy practice serving a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full‑scope midwifery care, including prenatal visits, labor & delivery management, postpartum care, and routine GYN services.
• Manage low‑risk pregnancies and collaborate with physicians on high‑risk cases.
• Perform well‑woman exams, contraception counseling, and preventive health screenings.
• Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and ensure continuity of care.
• Support laboring patients through evidence‑based, patient‑centered care.
• Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with facility standards.
• Work collaboratively with Ob/Gyn physicians, nurses, doulas, and support staff.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 24-hour in-house shifts (8a-8a), specific dates
• Annual Volume: 1,200 total patients
• Duties: Assess, diagnose, monitor, promote health and protection from disease, and manage care to adolescent and adult patients
• May provide care in an ICU setting
• Must be board-certified
• Paid travel & expenses

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) credential
• Current state RN and APRN licenses (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in full‑scope midwifery required
• Strong labor & delivery, clinical assessment, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
